We have spoken several times about the “Green” philosophy that drives the management of Il Campeggio di Capalbio (Maremma), such as the intention of using local products for our restaurant: La Piazzetta and the choice to use organic products in our mini-market.

It is a radical choice that proves itself right day by day, a choice that we would make every day, and today we want to explain why.

First, for a value that’s almost forgotten in these days: the quiet. In our camping site there are no speakers, no loud music, except that which can reproduce the stereo of customers, there is no entertainment service for daily activities, trying at all hours of the day and night to make you do something, and there are no cars.

On this particular point we were mandatory, the camp has to be a quiet and safe place, people must be free to go around with bike or on foot when and where they want. For this reason the cars are totally banned inside camp, to deliver the luggage there are electrical cars, comfortable, quiet and environmentally friendly.

The eco choices then continue with the decision to use low-energy illumination system, which uses light bulbs with low consumption, passes through our recycle program, and public awareness campaigns, such as that we will start this summer, and of which I'll talk more in the next days.

Shortly, we will not only organize courses for children, to teach them the art of recycling, but we will place signs in the camp to give advices on flora and fauna, and how to respect them, it seems the least we can do to preserve this beautiful land.

It may seem a pretentious choice, perhaps even uncomfortable, which goes against the interests of the customer who wants any kind of comfort and fun, but believe us when we say you that you just need to spend a few days in the company of silence, the waves of the sea and the climate that reigns in the camp for tell yourself that we where right.

We opened the camp with a very simple philosophy in our mind, based on these words: peace, environment and respect, and will continue to rely on them, for now the results give us reason to continue our job, moreover, how siding for the environment could be wrong?
