After the special deal for the opening week of March 2013, we at Campeggio di Capalbio decided to create a new special weekend, dedicated to all fans of Maremmma and Tuscan food. One of the objectives of the event is to introduce the new 2013 Camping like the Luxury Tents, and make you live a preview of some of the cultural activities that will characterise the whole summer the camp site (exhibitions, jazz concerts, courses of natural design for adults and children etc..).
But first things first. Saturday, April the 27th, 2013 at our campsite in Capalbio will take place "Flavors of Maremma", a tasting and sale of local and organic food, made from companies of Maremma, therefore in line with our commitment to promote the area and with our geen policy.
And then here's a quick overview of the Maremma’s companies that have joined our initiative, offering their products.
The first is Azienda Agricola Poggio Quattrino of Orbetello, a family-owned company whose olive groves are recognised by the consortium who watch over the genuineness of the oil product. An extra virgin olive oil obtained with the “cold pressing” method.
Another olive oil present at the event will be Frantoio Terre di Capalbio. The extra virgin olive oils from their products have diverse tastes and properties that allow a perfect pairing with each dish, form the simple on of the Maremma’s cuisine up to the most sophisticated creations of an high chefs’ academy.
Talking about the wines, they come from Rascioni & Cecconello, IGT Maremma Toscana Rosso Ciliegiolo 100%, and Pianese Capalbio, a company
that produces about 80,000 bottles a year of red wine IGT Toscana, a very successful brand, both in Italy and abroad, which includes Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Shyraz.
The cheese tasting will be offered from the food artisans of "MAREMMAINTUSCIA" from the marina of Montalto di Castro (Viterbo), a family owned business. The production of their cheeses, all healthy, tasty and easily digestible, is made thanks to technology and modern machinery, but with an hand-crafted way, with respect of the cheese making tradition, but also with a personal touch (the have pecorino cheese flowered with lavender, lemon, truffle, pistachios, pink berries, chocolate, cinnamon and ginger, chives, wild fennel, etc.).
Moving on to the organic products, a corner of the tasting will be reserved for Terre dell’Oasi, which come directly from the near WWF Oasis of Burano Lake (extra virgin olive oil, honey, salt, rice, etc..) and those of LaSelva, a bio-agricultural factory from Albinia - Orbetello (GR), which we have already presented in a previous article.
The event, which will start at 5 p.m, will also include a rich surprise buffet, the exhibition of original paintings by the artist Eulalia Iole Rosa (for the book project "Stories of the Five Elements") and the blues-jazz concert of Iso '& Wild Cards (quartet: vocals, acoustic guitar, saxophone and double bass).
The price for the event it’s only € 12 (€ 6 for children aged 5 years and over), buffet included!
