There is a light-hearted music, a music that makes you daydream, the one that makes you angry and the one that makes you fall in love. Then there is the music that scratches, warm and cozy: that’s the music of a 15th August in Maremma (Tuscany), at Camping Capalbio. We are talking about the blues, soul, R&B of King James!

James King was born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in 1955. When he was a child he sang in a gospel choir, just like in perfect “blues fairy tales”. At 7 he ran all over the southern United States in tour with them. At that time someone gave him a guitar that he soon learned to tame! At 12 he joined a band called "Old Ship of Zion" and he recorded his first album. The young James had not only talent but was particularly versatile, he began to travel, every place a band, sometimes more than one! In Birmingham he joined "The Chosen Five Singers" an with them he’d been touring around United States. Then he came back in Mississippi where played with great artists such as Little Milton, BB King, Freddie King, Little Willy and many others.

In 1985 King James moved to Europe and for 12 years he had joined the "Drifters", a blues band well-recognised in England. But he was in search of a personal special sound so, in 1991, he founded his first Live Music Club in Tenerife and his personal band "King James and the Alabama Soul Band". James King is a traveller of blues, he believes that in music (and in life) an end always turns into a new starting point, and here he is, therefore, on the road again.

In last years King James has played all over the Europe with various bands, also in Italy. He brought the warmth of soul music to Norway, Finland and Denmark, everywhere enchanting the audience with his voice and his guitar.

He had been travelling far and wide, from Alabama to Maremma (Tuscany), through the whole world, to our campsite, in Capalbio.

On the 15th August night the powerful voice of James King will envelope us, his guitar will scratch us while his charming personality will seduce us and we will be very glad to be part, for a night, of the legend of this great bluesman. Don't miss it!
